4Learning
Prior to freelancing I was managing editor of schools publications at 4Learning, the educational division of Channel 4 Television, for six years. Initially my role involved developing and producing resources to support 4Learning programmes broadcast on Channel 4 as part of the channel’s public service remit. These included teacher’s guides, activity books and CD-ROMs. Subsequently my focus was more on repurposing traditional linear TV programming into new formats, including DVD and online clip libraries for a range of school subjects.
Other work
Over the course of my career I’ve turned my hand to many things:
I taught English as a foreign language in France and Spain for three years.
I was an intranet editor at the Millennium Dome (now the O2), and was there on the opening night.
In the mid 90s I edited travel and wine guides published by Microsoft.
My first job after graduating from university was as a Braille transcriber.
